Drums of Heaven/Chicken Lollipops

These wings are sweet, spicy, and delicious! When you taste these, you'll understand why they were named Drums of Heaven!

 

Ingredients

  • 15 chicken wings

  • 1 tsp. salt

  • 1 1/2 tsp. garlic powder

  • 1 1/2 tsp. ginger paste

  • 1 tsp. soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp. cornstarch

  • 2 tsp. lemon juice

  • 1 tbsp. red chili powder

  • green onion for garnishing

Sauce

  • 2 tbsp. of oil

  • 2 tbsp. garlic, diced

  • 1/2 cup onion, diced

  • 6 green chilies, diced

  • 1 tbsp. soy sauce

  • 1/4 cup ketchup

  • 1/4 cup sriracha

  • 1 tsp. white vinegar

  • 1 tbsp. sugar

  • cornstarch and water mix (2 tbsp. of each, mixed well)

 

Instructions

  1. Cut the thinner end of the wing until you hit the bone of it. Now take the meat of the wing and push it towards the other end, with the help of a knife.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the wings and all the spices. Cover and marinate it for an hour.

  3. On medium-high heat, take a small pot and fill it about 1/3 full of oil. Now take the marinated wings and place it in the oil. Take it out when it is just golden brown, remember, they're not supposed to be fully done yet.

  4. Put the oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Put the onions, chilis, and the garlic in the pot. Saute them, then add the sugar and liquid ingredients. Simmer over medium heat, until the components are well combined.

  5. Take your wings and dump them in your sauce. Make sure the sauce coats all of the wings evenly, then cook it for 8 minutes on medium, stirring occasionally. Serve it while it's hot. They taste great with rice or on their own!
